"Stabæk” beat “Ekranas” (FKE TV)
In Spain, in La Manga city, "Ekranas" was beaten in a friendly match 1:4 (0:2) by the opponents from Norway, “Stabæk".
It was not a match of the “La Manga Cup” tournament, but an additional friendly match in the training camp.
“Ekranas” started the match having an unusual line-up: both legionaries played in front - U.Umeh and A. Fofana, midfielders were A. Kučys and A. Arlauskas, J. Moroz also started the match, K. Timofejevas was a goalkeeper.
The start of the match occurred unsuccessful, at 8 min S.Sortevik scored the first goal. At 32 min., Norwegian players scored again: M. Stokkelien scored from far.
After a break, a few changes were made: goalkeeper E. Zubas came out to the pitch, also D. Gleveckas, M. Savėnas, M. Andelkovič, D. Norvilas, E. Varnas. The beginning of the second half was unsuccessful as well, when A. Kucys got a red card foul.
At 55 minute, H. Skenderovic scored a header. At 69 minute, the third goal was scored. B. Franc won the fourth goal for his team. Towards the end of the match, M. Savenas softened a result by scoring a goal.
About “Stabæk“
The club was founded in 1912 in Bekestua town. Although “Stabæk” mentions a hundred years anniversary of the foundation, the first trophy was won only in 1998., when they won the Norwegian Cup Championship and won the bronze medal. They also won in 2003 and in 2009. In 2007 the team got silver, the season of 2008 was the most successful for the club they won the national championship and the cup. However, in 2010 and in 2011 was not so successful, the team won the 12th and 10th places.
The team is represented by three legionaries - Icelander defender Bjarni Ólafur Eiriksson, forward from the Ivory Coast Boli Franc and forward Harry Skenderović from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It is the third friendly match against Norway's teams for Panevezys team. Ekraniečiai over the first camp in January defeated "Strømsgodset IF” 2:1, and on Wednesday was beaten by the “Viking” team 1:2.
